The Role
As a Software Engineer at Palantir, you will have the chance to shape the strategy for how Palantir’s software platforms—Foundry, Gotham, and Apollo—achieve full containerization across a vast array of infrastructure types. You’ll also get to work on achieving these same goals for Palantir’s expanding customer base. You will build robust APIs powered by Kubernetes (K8s) controllers that bridge the gap between raw Kubernetes clusters and fully-featured, infrastructure-agnostic runtimes capable of scaling to the needs of hundreds of specialized microservices. Core Responsibilities
- Engage with and internalize Palantir’s infrastructure strategy and address your team’s customer base needs.
- Leverage K8s primitives, the broader OSS ecosystem around K8s, and service lifecycle semantics to solve business-critical problems at scale.
- Build and evolve APIs that enable both in-house and third-party software developers to interact with K8s, abstracting complex distributed systems.
- Collaborate with your team and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
- Champion a long-term tech roadmap that reduces operational burden, ensures scalability, and strives for improvements wherever possible.
What We Value

What We Require
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 1+ years of experience contributing to system design or architecture (e.g., architecture, design patterns, reliability, scaling).
- 1+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead, or team leader.
- Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience in designing, building, and operating high-scale observability or infrastructure systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Salary
The estimated salary range for this Palantir job is $135,000 – $200,000/year. Total compensation may also include restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, and other future incentives. Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors.
