What You’ll Do

As an Art Director, you will lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary artists to help bring Epic’s vision to life. In this role, you will strike a balance between creative thinking and strong leadership, guiding the team to develop content across various projects. Working closely with the Product Art Director, you will be responsible for identifying and communicating a high-quality visual style while coaching and developing your team to do the same.

In This Role, You Will

Be highly creative—imagine and communicate your vision to the team to develop new content that players will love.
Help Epic push the visual envelope by creating stunning and inspiring characters.
Direct and mentor a worldwide team of artists, delivering effective feedback across all art disciplines (modeling, animation, etc.).
Translate the needs of various development disciplines such as design and engineering into final artwork.
Collaborate with the Product and IP teams on themes and cosmetic sets.
Create and iterate unique and stunning designs on a determined production schedule.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as an Art Director in a game studio.
A deep understanding of the game development process and various art disciplines.
Strong grasp of art fundamentals, multiple art styles, anatomy, and visual appeal.
Experience designing characters with broad appeal and a wide variety of styles.
Expertise in color theory and its impact on mood and focal points, with a focus on modern fashion-forward aesthetics.
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, along with experience in providing effective feedback for outsourcing and contractors.
Strong leadership skills to guide a large team toward a singular creative vision.
A collaborative nature, allowing you to partner with senior art directors and discipline leads.
Ability to innovate new styles and techniques as needed.
