As a Data Engineer, you’ll collaborate with Data Engineers and Database Administrators to enhance our evolving Data Lake by utilizing Google Cloud Platform services and open-source tools. Your ability to maintain a positive attitude, remain flexible, and collaborate with operational data generators as well as data consumers driving innovation will be key to your success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide thought leadership on architecture choices and design efficient data pipelines using Google Cloud.
- Collaborate with web and application experts to identify and extract key data from transactional systems for the Data Lake.
- Work with business leaders to determine data reporting needs that span multiple functions.
- Assist Business Intelligence and Data Science teams by transforming and aggregating core data for integration into other systems.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Big Data in a cloud environment is essential, with Google Cloud Platform preferred.
- Proficiency in building and managing ETL/ELT data pipelines at scale using tools like Airflow, Kafka, or Spark.
- Familiarity with designing datasets in NoSQL Datastores, particularly BigQuery.
- Expertise in scripting languages, especially Python.
- Experience with Kafka is a significant plus.
- Ability to create and maintain shell/bash scripts.
- Familiarity with source control environments is beneficial.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL is advantageous.
- Must be a proactive problem solver who can keep up with Sweetwater’s fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
