JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an engaging and motivated Junior Client Manager to join our growing team. At mprs, managing our clients’ royalty data is a core component of our service. We pride ourselves on providing clients with royalty data that is clean, accurate, and up to date.

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for (a) supporting our data engineering team with the analysis of royalty data, and (b) cultivating and maintaining relationships with our valued clients by onboarding them into the mprs platform, managing their growing catalogs, and promptly addressing any administrative needs as their ongoing mprs contact lead.

This a great opportunity to work across a roster of production-focused clients and expand your knowledge of royalties within this nuanced area of the music industry.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
  • Aggregating, cleaning, and analyzing large sets of royalty data from various recorded music sources
  • Reviewing producer / mixer agreements and corresponding royalty data to ensure accuracy and consistency, identifying any irregularities
  • Preparing semiannual royalty reports of income for clients
  • Acting as primary point of contact for growing roster of clients
  • Becoming an expert on producer / mixer master royalties and mprs client catalogs
  • Collaborating with finance team to submit invoices on behalf of clients
  • Swiftly identifying and escalating client issues to leadership team for resolution

QUALITIES WE VALUE
  • Attention to detail – Emphasis that our internal data and client-facing output is 100% accurate and complete
  • Music lover – Strong appreciation for the art and a determination to empower musicians to be successful
  • Self-starter – Ability to envision and implement processes from start to finish
  • Communication – Effective communication is the cornerstone of successful relationships, both internally and externally
  • Comfort with ambiguity – We are small and scrappy, and while we prioritize being clear and thoughtful with requirements, we often find ourselves in uncharted territory that requires us to iterate and learn as we go
  • Adaptability – The ability to adjust and adapt to changing client needs based on feedback, company priorities, and industry trends is imperative
  • Security-first approach – We deal every day with sensitive financial data and that forces us to consider our roles as fiduciaries of this data every step of the way
  • Music industry domain expertise, especially with royalties, is a plus but we have robust documentation and a team that is more than willing to help train you in all aspects of our work

COMPETENCIES WE REQUIRE
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel
  • Analytical skills and ability to draw insights from data
  • Experience speaking with and presenting to external stakeholders
