What you will learn in this course …
In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of what Funk is based on. Not only Funk music but Pop, Reggae, Electronic, and every other popular style of music uses the foundation that you will learn from this course.
Quarter note
The first thing to learn B4 we get to the funk is the Quarter Note.
The Quarter note is a staple in every style of music. Every note you learn after this note is a breakdown of the Quarter note.
Next is the 8th note
The 8th note is the break down of the Quarter note. You’ve heard it in popular music but may not have known what it’s called.
The 16th note
This note is in every form of popular music. Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, POP, K-POP and even Jazz. After you learn this we will get into some other useful tools.
The grand staff
So the Quarter, 8th & 16th note will be shown in it’s element on paper. You’ll be able to use staff paper to write down rhythms and show any musician in the world your idea.
Creating chords using scales
Now Chords are contrived from Scales. You’ll learn exactly how to make a chord using scales and then we can get into some F U N K !
Funk lick #1
Finally what you’ve been waiting for. Now you’ve learned the tools now let’s put them to use and learn some basic Funk.
First progression. The 1-4
We will be putting chords to use in Funk.
2-5-1 progression
This progression is used in every type of popular music. Funk uses it to set a repeat of a groove.
